HTC Desire Z: A Complete Guide and Review

HTC in the month of September announced two handsets; one is HTC Desire HD and the other one is called as HTC Desire Z. HTC introduced its full specs line in HTC Desire Z, powered by Android 2.2 (first HTC set to have Android 2.2) the handset is equipped with a slideout keyboard plus an ordinary extension that Desire series houses.

At a mere 14mm deep, HTC Desire Z is a very chunky mobile handset compared to its partner Desire HD that is 11.8mm thick, although comparing with the likes of  Motorola Milestone2 that also has a full QWERTY keyboard the handset is heavy, but it sticks well in the pocket.

The complete screen is surrounded by a very trim aluminum casing sort of outline, matched with aluminum battery housing, elsewhere on the body it is darker grey on the onset and rubberized coating on the handset. According to other reviewers, it feels well built and solid but honestly speaking it lacks the wow factor that HTC Legend carries with it.

Just like other Android Smartphones out there, users get the Home, a Menu control and a dedicated Back and Search hard buttons along the bottom line of the screen. Moreover, the buttons are spaced on a thin aluminum trim so you might get irritated sometime by getting clicks on the wrong buttons.

There is also a squarish touch pad that functions just like a Joypad on the Blackberry, the users can move their finger left and right to navigate through the Homescreens. The Touch pad works in both kinds of orientations. Plus, the handset has a 3.5mm Jack, MicroSD port and a built-in 1.5GB storage.
