PS3 Firmware Measures To Combat Piracy

Publishers of PS3 initially troubled by pirated software can now take a breather with some new firrmware releases by Sony which have been configured to fight off piracy.

Several moves have been taken by Sony to effectively encounter pirated software on the Play Station 3 (PS3) console. This particularly happened after the popular PS Jailbreak and other solutions which were based on the same move. To make this possible Sony took drastic measures to prevent software interaction. Firstly, the USP exploit was closed down with firmware 3.42. Later, another change was made in firmware which whitlisted some USB devices which were those that swerved away the piracy road. However, this drastic action causes controller incompatibilities.
