Review of LG OPTIMUS U

LG mobile phones compared to other brands offer you the latest features for a comparatively cheaper price.  LG Optimus U, the latest edition of its cell phones in the market, stands out in terms of design, features and performance at the current given price. Its average rating is 7/10 for design, 8/10 for features and 8/10 for performance.

Review:

LG’s Optimus U doesn’t differ much in its looks from the previous Optimus editions apart from a few changes that have been brought about. As the alphabet suggests, this cell phone is available from U.S. cellular. If you’re an existing customer then you could get the phone free after an $80 mail-in rebate. However, if you’re a new customer then you would have to sign up a contract for a period of up to 2 years.

Appearance

As mentioned earlier, if you hold Optimus S and Optimus U alongwith each other, there is no visible difference between the two. The outlook of the Optimus U is identical to previous edition in terms of size, weight and look.

The minor difference which could be traced is, Optimus S has placed its Android Hot keys in a different manner as compared to Optimus U. In Optimus S, the placement of home key is first and the popup menu is second whereas this has been reversed in Optimus U.

The other visible difference when you switch on the screen is that Optimus U has been stacked with more Android options compared to Optimus S. The new edition Optimus U allows you a more user friendly interface allowing more shortcuts and additional ease to use the cell. However, if you’re an Optimus S user, then you can upgrade your software to avail the features of Optimus U.

Features

Android 2.2 allows its users to have a great time using the cell phone. It has all the features in built which maximize your experience. One factor which lacks in this phone is that flash videos are difficult to play in the browser. However, if you use YouTube or third party applications then there would be no issue.

With unlimited features on offer, Optimus U is also amazing for its connectivity and media based usage. To further please you, Optimus U offers GPS, stereo Bluetooth, 3G in the form of EV-DO Rev, Wi-Fi capabilities, up to an extent of five devices.

Positives: LG’s Optimus U is a very simple, slim cell which offers maximum satisfaction to its users. Keeping in mind its price, it’s the best product which could maximize utility and allow you the maximum features such as the Android 2.2, Wi-Fi, 3.2 MP camera, GPS etc.

Negatives: The only let down factor about this cell is that it does not allow you to play flash videos from the browser. It also does not have LED flash.

Result: After thoroughly reviewing the cell, it wouldn’t be wrong to state that this edition of LG Optimus is one of the best smartphones in the market.
