3 Ways to Retrieve a Missing iPhone

If you have lost your iPhone- whether you forgot it or it got snatched-and want to know where it is then you may consider installing application(s) in your iPhone that help you track its location. FoneHome is one of such apps which comes at a price of $1.99 and is a lot more worth than its price.

The problem is that you can have your whole day ruined if you lose any of your precious items e.g. purse/wallet, ID card, car keys, original documents etc. However, these things won’t call out your name to let you know where they are- understandably. However, there are no such issues with iPhone. The only thing you need is the exact app and service. The 3 best apps available are as follows:

FoneHome and iHound

These apps are almost the same in background functioning. They both work by sending GPS signals from your iPhone to you in small intervals. What you need to do is get a Web browser (you can even ask your friend’s iPhone or Android if it’s truly urgent), access your iPhone account and be able to track its location down to the nearest mile on a map. You also have the option of transmit a regular “I’m lost” message or an audio alert which makes a passerby get attracted and report the stolen phone or better still get it back to you. FoneHome stands at $1.99 while iHound is higher at $3.99 with an annual fee of $10.99.

MobileMe

This one has been thrown out by the Apple maestro and is priced like a masterpiece too. This multi-dimensional service is priced at $99 annually (although Amazon gives it out at $60). It synchronizes your phonebook contacts, appointments, reminders etc and also makes available the wonderful Find My iPhone which helps you locate your phone through your PC or another device running the same app. The custom “I’m lost” message is found here too. However, it has one classic feature of setting a four-digit code which restricts any other person from using your iPhone or in extreme situations wipe off the whole phone utility making it useless.

Wheres My Phone?

This one is relatively new and a bit fun. Wt 99 cents it is designed to work for close range only. Those of you who keep forgetting their phone around in office and home or even if you got it pushed under a furniture item- it’s time to stop worrying! What you need to do is clap instead (or produce some loud noise) so that the phone starts vibrating or play a typical sound directing your attention to its location.
