Software Giant, Microsoft On Tuesday declared that they have rolled out three updates that will patch up security holes and susceptibilities that are present in the Microsoft’s last two Office Productivity Suites.

According to a certain Security Bulletin that Microsoft has posted, the security holes and vulnerabilities are involved mainly in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft word components of the Office Suite. Microsoft says that for both the components, Word and Excel, the security holes that have been reported enable an external user or any hacker to execute remote code whenever the user opens a specially designed Microsoft Word or Excel file. This latest security update fixes almost 13 vulnerabilities in Excel and a total of 11 vulnerabilities in Word.

The other platform of Personal Computer Mac has also a series of affected products which include Office2004 and Office 2008 and the Open XML file converter for typical Macs; this feature enables the opening of files of Office 2008 in older version of the software.

Office 2008 for the Mac Platform version 12.2.7 is almost 333MB and requires MAC OS X 10.4. The security update is not the only thing that has been fixed in this update; the Office 2008 update also promises the users the stability for Excel crashes that they were complaining about, and also an improved reliability and connectivity is being provided in this particular update as far as the Microsoft Exchange server link with Entourage is concerned.

These 3 security updates are not the only sole updates issued instead Microsoft has also released updates for Microsoft Entourage software package and Web Services Edition that is 64 MB in size. The release notes from the company state the ability to synchronize tasks with Microsoft Exchange Server.
